NOTES

1. The mass release of balloons shall not recklessly or negligently cause or permit the balloons to endanger any person or property.

2. The notice and all relevant information should reach the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) at least 7 working days prior to the date of the proposed balloon release. If not submitted on-line, this form may be sent to fax. no. 2910 0186 or sent by post to the following address:

1 Control Tower Road,
Hong Kong International Airport,
Lantau, Hong Kong.

3. The following conditions are normally required to be observed for the mass release of balloons:

(a) The balloons shall be released individually, i.e. not tied together.
(b) When fully inflated, the maximum linear dimension of each balloon shall not exceed 30 cm (12 inches).
(c) Paper banners or other attachments to the balloons are not permitted.
(d) The balloons should be of rubber material; inflatable balloons of metallic material, cloth or paper are not permitted. 4. This notification only relates to the requirements of the Air Navigation (Hong Kong) Order 1995. The organisation/organiser is responsible for obtaining any necessary authorisation or permission under any other relevant legislation (from CAD and any other organisations or Government Departments as applicable) and complying with all relevant legal requirements and conditions before the mass release of balloons.
